New Inventions Community Website

I found out about the FREE weekly Internet Marketing class through the UofH online SBDC calendar. Once I started going back in late September I began to pick up little tips here and there, and find useful tools to both enhance my site's ranking and save me time. I don't have a web development background, and I created a temporary website using WYSIWYG tools.

After my first class I created my own blog to promote my site, and started posting on popular blogs related to entrepreneurs. After my second class I found out about an easy-to-use email newsletter software called ConstantContact that dramatically increased my ability to track click-throughs and saved me time with formatting. I've also started using various analytical websites mentioned in class including Google Analytics and Thumbshots.com ranking tool. Just recently I found out I rank #3 on Yahoo for one of my key search terms, and #6 on MSN for another. And I've been able to do this in just over a month . . . all on my temporary website. Imagine what will happen once I apply this newfound knowledge to my completed site (to be finished in late 2006).

My site, IdeaTango.com, provides an online community that connects people who have ideas for new inventions, with others who can help develop those ideas. Through IdeaTango.com these two groups of members meet, collaborate, develop ideas, and bring ideas to market, thereby improving lives . . . and making some money to boot. Think of it as an online bulletin board like Craigslist.com or eBay.com, but for ideas, inventions, and intellectual property.
